Bruker has acquired Munich-based Dynamic Biosensors

Bruker Corporation strengthens its portfolio with the acquisition of Munich-based Dynamic Biosensors GmbH. The company develops technologies for analyzing molecular interactions, which will now be combined with Bruker's high-performance SPR systems.

Bruker Corporation has announced the acquisition of Munich-based Dynamic Biosensors GmbH, a pioneer in the development of biosensors. With this acquisition, Bruker will expand its biophysical product portfolio with advanced technologies for analyzing molecular and cellular interactions. Dynamic Biosensors' heliXcyto and heliX+ instruments, which are based on the innovative switchSENSE® technology, among others, enable precise kinetic measurements and the investigation of molecular binding behavior directly on cells.

The combination with Bruker's powerful SPR systems, including the new SPR #64 'Triceratops', is expected to create a comprehensive and pioneering product line for the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. Bruker anticipates that the combination of the two companies will provide new, differentiated solutions for drug discovery and development.

The co-founders of Dynamic Biosensors, Dr. Ralf Strasser and Prof. Ulrich Rant, were positive about the synergies and potential offered by the new partnership: “We are excited to work with our new colleagues to further develop a unique and differentiated biosensor business. Dr. Meike Hamester, Vice President of Bruker Biosensors, also emphasized the strategic importance of the acquisition, which further strengthens Bruker's market position in the field of biotechnology.

Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed, but Bruker expects the acquisition to add over USD 5 million in revenue in 2025.
